Allen served as the on the Board of Directors for Texas Sheep Dog Association for many years. But it is Allen’s continued commitment to the sheep dog community that puts Allen in the Hall of Fame. He continues to serve as a teacher, trainer, key opinion leader, and cheerleader to many in the sport. He had an amazing partnership with Sis, which would lend him to National Fame, but he also partnered with many other amazing dogs over the years. Allen is always with a word of advice and a smile for the competitors.

Emil Luedecke’s breeding program made a profound contribution to the genetic foundation of the Border Collie breed in North America. His dog Ben appears in the pedigrees of both reliable ranch dogs and top trial competitors. Ben competed in many prestigious USBCHA and TSDA trials, earning numerous accolades for Emil. Their bond and partnership were remarkable. Emil almost exclusively trialed dogs from his own breeding line—dogs known for their grit, toughness, stamina, and ability to perform real ranch work, while also being refined and responsive enough to excel in trials.
